6 speed 'box.

Can someone please point me in the direction of the ZRX 6 speed gearbox update.

Same final ratios, so all it does is give you a closer ratio box.

And that there is the reason I never bothered with that mod. If it lowered the final drive I would be all over it like a fat kid on a donut...........as long as donut man was nowhere to be seen

I like the 5 speed box. One less gear to change. Bike is so smooth I have found I have done long distances in 4th on the highway accidentally.

Yeah, inless racing it, I can't see the need. Mine rarely got out of top gear anyhoo!!!

Hmmm ........Thanx for that guys.Didn't know about final ratios.It's just that after 13yrs of ZRX ownership,I'm
still reaching for a 6th gear!!.

In conjunction with the six speed there is an option of using the top gear ratio from a GTR 1000, they apparently run a taller top gear.

You can then lower your final drive ratio if so desired, well thats what I would do if I had the money & inclination.

I have always felt 1st is too high for crawling in traffic & yeah it needs a higher top gear, you could always use 2nd to launch if the final drive was a little lower.

As another alt, I thing it was "bigtire" on ZRXOA who did a limited run of top gear cogs with even more overdrive than the GTR, I beleive he made extra's over & above pre-order qty's & did have some left over, that was some time ago (ancient history even)
