Hi all. I'd like to hear some thoughts on an idea I've had.

Firstly, I don't have the need for performance pipes. I wouldn't come close to handling the bike at full tilt anyway, and more importantly could never justify the cost to my wife. Plus I like the look of the stock pipes.

But like almost everyone, I'd like that "bit of me" in the bike.
So here's the plan.

Remove the end caps and shorten the top pipe 100-120mm and the bottom just the length of the cap shorter than that and replace the end caps. I reckon the staggered pipes will look great.

I haven't researched what may happen in regards to noise but I live in hope it will remain nice and quiet.

Any advice on doing this would be great. Thanks in advance. John.

PS. I've seen the 4-2-4 Laser pipes. They are just wild.

shorty pipes are quite popular and easy to do, but with 4 it looks like you got your work cut out for you.

a dude has chopped his pipes up on there. and has had success and failure. depending on what you wanna do,
apparently after you chop the end caps off, the long baffle thingy does simply pull out. and you could then re-fit.
but the Cat converter is still in there, if your worried about that.
keep us posted but.
ebay had a set of pipes, i think he wanted 200 for them. good to work on while you can still ride your weapn.

I want to keep it nice and quiet, so I'd keep as much of the baffle etc
as I can.
