Z1-R- '78 fuel system plumbing

Fri Jan 29, 2016 2:50 pm

Finally got all the carbs rebuilt (all hydrablasted, washed and blown out and fitted with new kits) and am about to connect them up to the fuel system.
I'm a bit mystified as to how it all goes together - the carbs were disassembled when I got the bike and hoses etc have long since vanished.

No probs with the drain hoses (item 39) and the interconnecting short hoses (item 37) between carbs 1 & 2 and 3 & 4.
Also happy with the 2x 2 way and 1 x 3 way "nipple, fuel hose" (items no 42 and 31) on the parts list (attached) and how they join the carb bodies.

I'd like to know where do hose, fuel (item 34) and 2 hoses (item 38) connect to? :?

I'm guessing that one end of each hose (item 38) connects to the the rear facing pipe on carbs 2 and 4,
but where do the other ends go? Also where does the upper end of item 34 go to?

NB: '78 Z1-R does not have a vacuum operated fuel tap and the fuel tap has only one outlet pipe.

(Hope somebody can work out wtf for me!)

32 " which is a spring clamp"is attached to your main fuel line to the petcock....I guess you know that.

The 2 spigots on your bottom arrows "34 and 38"... these hoses just run back and over the top of the air box.
Atmospheric vents as such.

G'day Dave,

Thanks for clearing that up for me - I was getting confused with my old H2 triple carbs which had a fuel inlet in a similar
location to the vent pipes!
