RIP Ken Wooten. He was a huge Kawasaki fan and promoter. He could never write an article for AMCN without telling us all about his classic Kwaka collection. Has anyone ever seen Kens bikes or know if they were handed down to his kids or sold off ?

Just curious. Not opportunistic.

I heard they were all being auctione off. I got that from Keith at Vic M/C wreckers a little while back.

It's a shame because it would have been good if they were preserved and displayed somewhere.

I can confirm that some (no 16 CB750ish included) are going to the visitor centre at the Phillip Island Circuit, his much loved and cherished ZRX was purchased by Glen Crutchley - one of the guys he raced with in the P4/P5 class. Glen plans to get it back on the road and ride in a manner Ken would have approved of 8)

I'll try and remember to find out what was happening to the others, I know that one member of his family wanted to sell anything they could - much to the dissapointment of his famous sister, Karen - Nurse - Wootten. Incedentially Karen made some of her famous Chocolate Brownie's - one of Ken;s favourite snacks - for the guys at the love shack back at the World Supers, as well as paying a visit to the comms box.

RIP Ken, you are sadly missed by us all

I hope that the visitors centre at the Island also pick up the ex-Du Hamel H2750R that was the apple of his eye in that collection. Also the old #16 Z1RMkII superbike that Ken rode in the Arai 500 back in the early 80's - this was a great bike in its day and still has all the original fittings from back in the day. An absolute classic motorcycle in every way. :kuda:

RIP Wobbler, you are very much missed.
