finally got those rubbers, diaphram and recovered seat, and fitted them up. Took the bike for a spin today down the drive and, it revved, rolled and stopped well. No nasty noises but itching to go for a long ride on the road. Wont be long now as Ive decided to hold off on paint until winter coz its a bit cool to ride here then.
Im as happy as......

I had big plans for doing some work on my bike during my leave, then ended up getting gastro :x

Did you make up the tail tidy yourself? I must have missed that. The RGV light is a neat fit. Can't wait to see it all squared away.

Nice work :kuda: :kuda: :kuda:

Hi Dutchy :kuda:
yeah the rgv unit just needed a bit of a mod and a mounting bracket to line it all up. i just need to knock up a sheetmetal cover to tidy it up and neaten where it joins near the indicators you can see in the second one down. Im thinking of swapping out the indicators for some smaller ebay specials.
sorry to hear you got crook better luck next leave.

A big day for the old dunger. It went for its first excursion onto the road and passed its blue slip. Now just need to get the greenslipa nd rego and im a mobile organ donor again. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
it took a long time for the smile to fade after i got home. Unfortunately the servo isnt that far but all good for a maiden voyage.

maybe. first stop adiminaby...check for any leaks, unusual rattles or vibrations etc then on to greener pastures. I have been waiting forever for this moment, to get back on the road and get the wind flowing over me again, to be part of the country and the environment, and not just veiwing from it all from behind a windscreen and sterin wheel. im looking fwd to saturday.

I took the bike for a good spin today and covered about 80 ks varying the speed and revs. it was grt day once the fog had completely burnt off. the motor revs freely and has a slight buzz around 5 grand but evens out as the revs increase. It pulls well through the gears and sits on the road very confidently. The riding position is very comfortable but i find the shift a little odd in where it is sitting, however later when i rode in just sandshoes around town it felt ok although i did miss a change. brakes are bedding in with good feel at the lever. i cant wait to go for a longer ride probably tommorrow arvo after gathering some fire wood. I still cant get the smile off my face. :D :D :D

went for a slightly longer spin today -about 200 ks. i found the buzz.... a loose engine mount and the fairing wasnt completely nipped up. no leaks yet but a very slight weep at the base gasket. will wash and observe to see if its a spill or a leak.

with the base gasket weep - have you re-tensioned the head nuts yet ? This may help.

Vibration damping......maybe a set of handlebar weights will help. You get a buzz through the pegs on these models which nothing can fix.....just make sure all the engine mounts are nice and snug, this will keep the vibes down to a minimum :kuda:
