Shadowfax Kawasaki MkII

Yes, folks, it looks like I have gone completely over to the dark side. Having enjoyed the restoration of the Shadowfax Kawasaki so much, I have been looking out for another project and yesterday I snared this old thing on fleabay. It is a 750R.

It's a 1984 model, running and in need of a bit of work to get back on the road again.

However, I'm not going to quite do a straight resto. In fact, what I plan is to build a road-going Shadowfax Kawasaki, complete with identical bodywork and fairing like the original bike. As well as the cosmetics I plan to overhaul/replace the rear spring/shock unit, replace the whole front end with a later model Kawasaki unit to replace the dodgy 16" front wheel and the dodgy anti-dive mechanism (I've been told a ZX6 front end with USD's will bolt in - like some advice on that) and fit some other farkles that will make the bike pretty and useable as a road-registered bike. I'll be taking my time with this one since there isn't the pressure of my existing project and I'm happy to take advice, suggestions from anyone who has good ideas about how to make this bike a very special little restoration.
As always, watch this space and weigh in with suggestions as you see fit. It should be fun.
