cheers Danny - not sure if anyone in Radelaide does mass finishing ?

In some other good news about the little S1 triple - my logbook for this bike turned up in todays mail !!! :kuda: :kuda: you little beauty. The only thing I am waiting on now is the 2013 licence......hopefully it should be here next week.

Have some minor jobs to do to the S1 over this weekend, have got some new carbie kits from a great ebay supplier so will fit these up over the weekend - all new carbie internals, jets, needle & seat etc etc - and also some new fork seals to fit up. Have to fit the Boyer Brandsen ignition kit......and then over the Anzac Day 4-day weekend (well it is when you take Friday off) - I will take the little jigger for a few road runs to make sure everything is ship-shape for the following weekend.......its great when your racebike also has Historic rego !!!

I really don't expect anything much out of this bike at all in the first round - will be happy to see it finish every race even if it is in last place. P4 250 is a pretty competitive class and this bike will need a lot of development to be even remotely competitive.

Having said that - I will still be giving it the biggest pizzling I can on the day :P :P

I've been working on mine every day trying to get it ready. Everyone keeps telling me that working on them is half the fun, but I'm still waiting for the fun to start. :? The bloody thing has it in for me and everything that could go wrong has. :x The new shock that was supposed to be here yesterday wasn't put in the shipment, there is a 4 week wait on tyres, when changing the reeds one of the bolts stripped the tread in the barrel and so it goes on. At least it will have the new reeds, new rearsets, different set up bars, a Trailtech tacho/temp gauge, new front brake and better front suspension finished for this weekend. Hopefully it will go a bit better than last time and finish all of the races so that I can have a bit of fun on it. :kuda:

yeh it can be like that at the start. But from the sounds of things you have completed most of the mods you wanted ? At least its only the first round so by the time Rd 2 comes around you might have that shock sorted.

Are you getting the good Avons ?

I finished a bit more to the S1 tonight, still have a bit to do in the morning but by and large she is all primed and ready to roar.....at the back of the pack !  will be really hard to get off the mark due to the gearing change but should have a much better legs through the gears.......

can't wait to get out there actually :kuda: the other 250 has been dynoed and sorted, so should go OK in P6 2fiddy proddy. Brett (Motogarage) got the hp up from 26 to 37 !!  me happy :kuda: :kuda:

I've ordered the tyres, but they haven't come in yet. There is a 4 week wait for the rear to go on the wire wheel (when I get it sorted and fitted up) but I'm hoping the front 90/90/18 will turn up tomorrow so I can get it fitted for this weekend. At the end of the day I can still run on the old tyres and old rear shock, it's just not going to handle as good as I want.

You guys are lucky you have someone nearby with a dyno that will work on two strokes. The nearest person like that for me is Sydney as far as I know. :? Getting the P6 prody fro 26 to 37 is a great result. :kuda:

Can't wait to get up there Saturday.

I think 26 to 37 is pretty stunning actually...what did he do, put a bigger motor in the thing. What is this amazing machine Gos,not the S1 that's for sure.

I assume Nelso you have the wires on the LC??? Much work involved??
I luurrve the smell of 2stroke in the mornin'.

It's got a wire wheel on the front, but the rear is an RGV wheel that is soon to be replaced with a wire RD400 wheel that I just picked up. When I do the swap I will let you know how much work will be involved. It would have been much easier just to leave the stock wheels on it, I can't see any real benefit in replacing them other than looks.

Here is the dyno chart from last week - this is the baby Fizzer 2fiddy. Not the S1 !!  it only made 26hp on Bretts dyno a couple of years ago and he refuses to let it back on there !!! dyno chart & story is on page 4 of this thread....

Here is a pic of the P4 triple up at Eastern Creek last weekend......Rd 1 PCRA champs....

Had some fuel issues - at both end of the scale  but thanks to Chops these were sorted out Friday night.

Managed to get some practice laps in and also some qualifying laps - but down the front straight on 2nd-last qualifying lap, I felt the engine note change a bit  so pulled off the track.....

Turns out that the #1 points - yes this is old girl was still running a points ignition last weekend - had closed up and advanced the timing on #1 cylinder - resulting in a borked spark plug and some detonation on the piston crown. The piston is toast, but the cylinder was not damaged at all, so a replacement piston should sort out the issue quickly...

Here is a pic of the mighty S1 in the pits on Saturday - thanks MIZ RX3 for the photo :kuda:

Lots of development needed to get to even a half-decent pace, but that is the fun in sorting out a new race bike....

good question mate - I have NFI as the bike expired before any racing legs took place. There have not been any small-bore kwakka triples racing at EC with the PCRA for a number of years - Bob Muldoon? from Bathurst has a good H1 500 that gets around the GP circuit in under 2 minutes, but that bike has not been raced for a couple of years now. The smaller ones - 250/350/400 - basically nobody has raced these for ages.

I won't know how quick this bike is around the GP circuit until we actually race on it - which is not happening this year at all from what I understand ?? Could be wrong but we do North circuit Rd 1, South Circuit Rd 2, next 2 rounds at Wakefield - then last round at South circuit again.....so may not get a chance to race the GP circuit until 2014 Barry Sheene meeting...... :?
