Z650 Exhaust

Hi Guy's and Gal's,

Does anyone know if 750 or 550 Zepher down pipes fit the KZ650 ? I have a 4 into 1 at present but like the look of twins, I am looking for an alternative exhaust since most of the local items are stuffed. I can get a new one made complete for $2k, the only problem is the $2K - I ain't got it. Everytime I fine one of FleaBay it is too costly to get it here

the 750 Zephyr pipes *may* fit, as this engine is based on the old z650/750 block.....but I have not used one of these exhaust systems on an older 650, so it will be a case of try it and see......the rear mount will almost certainly need to be modified. The 550 motors had smaller exhaust ports, so a pipe off this model is unlikely to fit.

Have you tried any of the Aussie manufacturers ?? I think Tranzac are still in business, a full system from them should be way under $2k ?.....

Good luck with the search - if the NSW Z Owners were actually a going concern, I would point you in their direction - if you get really stuck send me a pm I can ask a few other hoarders if they have a system tucked away.....

Thanks Gos, I might see if I can corner and measure up a friends Zepher 750 and see if it comes anywhere close. I was looking on FleaBay and there are some nice ones here and there, maybe I can get a set. I suppose an alternative is to get an exhaust shop to bend up some Stainless, I can then get some generic mufflers.

no worries mate - ebay can often be the best place to find these I reckon.....
