While we're talking about this bike any idea why the Givi topbox only holds 6kg when mounted on this bike? Is there some bendable shitty fragile subframe under the ducktail? They normally hold around 8kg, and I reckon I'd get pretty close to that every now and again.

Does it look like the Z750 has a 'shitty bendable fragile subframe in the ducktail' in this photo?

As you can see in the pic, I went to PI in October with a ventura rack & expanded ventura bag (mustve weighed 10kg at least!), plus a sports bag, plus a tent big enough for me to standup in, plus a folding chair and there was no problem with the bike.

Err, no! Just wondering why it was rated lower...

Excellent news, many thanks for that! Good selling point for the Z750! 8)

Thanks again

6-8 kilo's in a Givi box hanging off the end of the subframe would put much less stress on the subframe than the weight of a rider & a pillion sitting on the bike!
I'd say the lower weight rating has more to do with the positioning of the rack mounts than the strength of the subframe. If the rack mounts are further forward (away) from the box itself, then there would be extra stress on the monorack arms of the Givi set-up ... so the lower weight recommendation would be to prevent damage to the Givi mounting arms rather than the subframe :)

Just went in and had a chat to them. It's on consignment. The guy bought it in February, has only done 2,500 kays on it, and his missus is insisting that he sell it.

$1500 changeover for my bike. Tempting, tempting, tempting.

I agree Jason. Go and test ride it before you think about it any further.
With the different riding position & no fairings, they are far from your normal riding experience and may or may not be your cup of tea.
You'll either love it or you won't ... we'll be waiting to hear how you go 8)
