More info required..... The two marks on the oil pump? I can only see one... It is lined up when on idle. At full throttle it is inline with the Mikuni indentation down the barrell of the pump?

Also when I went out to the bike last night to fiddle I found that the horn, blinkers, tail light, brake light and lights on the speedo have stopped working. What the? Where do I start troubleshooting?

When I picked it up in the trailer and bought it home it was raining the whole way, but all the electricals were working still. I have since given everything a good dose of CRC Electrical spray. Know not working.

Main fuse.
Then find the reason why :D possibly the rectifier is cactus as they were a weak point and I remember reading something about replacing the original with a Suzuki one. Check the entire loom for dodgy conections or bared wires that would create a dead short. Have fun.
I am really just working off the 125 oil pump which is slightly different - havn't ever bothered with the 100 pumps as I just rip them out. The 125 has 2 marks but if you only have one and it is lined up on idle then that should suffice. I assume you have taken the outlet side of the pump off and checked that it pumps? If it helps I have found a figure that at 2000rpm in a 3 min duration it should discharge 0.095 oz of oil (2.8ml).

Cheers Adrian, that manual is sweet.

I sussed out the electrical drama.. the battery had died / dropped a cell and wouldn't hold a charge. All good know.

Do you have a "blinker switch/horn/high beam low beam" assembly?

Also chasing an old KH 100 seat I can do a rough single seat mod to, for cheap reg.

I can't believe it's the same reg in QLD for a 1980 single cylinder 100cc as it is for a 2.3 litre triumph rocket. What a joke.

Try a z200, Z250 or KH125 ducktail. Heres one ( http://auction.netbikes.com.au/item.php?id=5013 ) Fabricate a small seatpan from either sheetmetal or alluminium to bridge the gap between the tank and the ducktail. Add foam and a bit of vinyl and it could be done for under $60.
I have a seat here which has rooted viinyl and foam but remarkably the seatpan is immaculate and I am reluctant to let it go because of its condition.
Try also Motumbi somewhere on the north coast of NSW http://www.classic-motorcycle-fiberglass.com/index.html You can get a fibreglass unit and upholster it to suit.
On the LH switchgear, yes I realise I do have one - still to be confirmed though - its in the back shed and may take a while to get to but I'm pretty sure there is one down there. Everytime I go down there though I get sidetracked as I find something else I have been looking for and get all excited and forget why I was there in the first place!
Try here for parts also. http://shop.wemoto.com/index.dyn . For some reason alot of NOS has ended up in Thailand and with the 100's and 125's being popular in asia and the UK make sure you always search "worldwide" or visit the country's specific AUCTION SITE.
Note however that there is nothing and I mean it there is nothing that is shared between a KH125 and a KH100. They were both completely different designs. The 125 was not the same bike with a larger bore. Just like the the ER6 is not the same as a Z750. know what I mean?
Having said that though some similarities exist between the 100 and the AR80 - not many though and parts for those are just as hard to find. But are worth a look.

Hey mate, I figured I had it licked before I sold it. All 3 charging coils had been tested and were working fine, the rectifier was replaced and we also put the wiring back to a standard configuration. My wife had no dramas with the charging of the battery if she rode it often enough...that said it would still lose charge if she didn't ride it for 4 days or more. Maybe it's just the fact that it's a 6 volt system.

hello everyone, i know this is an old thread but i figured i could ask my question here.

before i start blabbering a small intro. im a newbie to this forum. im from malta, well some of you might hate me because my current ride is a yamaha fz6 ( i got it because it was priced the same as a kawi zr7 next to it! the owner of the yammi wanted it gone asap because he had to go abroad on work). if you want pics of the bike i ll be happy to oblige.

anyway heres my query. i recently bought a 1976 kawasaki kh100el which was in a sorry state and i felt for it! when i stripped it bare there was nothing really serious just years of neglect and some surface rust on the frame. the carb was the worse.

anyway when i got to the wiring loom i could find nothing that resembled a fuse box, a rectifier/charger etc. i just have one main fuse running from the battery terminal. since i suck at electrical components, could someone post a detailed pic of the lhs panel to see what componets i am missing and ideally a small list on what should be attached to the oem wiring loom.

thx

Hi Everyone. First ever post! I've picked up on of these a couple of months back and I'm working on tidying it up.

Would anyone still have that PDF floating around? Also, mine's a 1979. I'm also seeking an ignition switch, where are some good spots to try? Online or otherwise.

Cheers,

D

I swear I posted a response to this but it seems it disappeared.

I've just picked up one of these, a 1979 according to the plate. I'm working on getting it on the road since it's been unregistered since 2003 so I have a few small things to do. Otherwise, it runs really well.

Does anyone have a copy of that PDF manual lying around? I'd love to see it.

Also, amongst a bunch of other pieces I need to get for it, what is proving the most elusive is a replacement ignition switch. Do you folks have any leads about good sources for these kinds of things? I've found some Thai and Indonesia web stores that have helped
