 fully paid up !! Mate, there was *nothing* stickier back in the early 80's than a set of 'Silver Dot' Phantoms..........I could chew through a set in under 3k, about 6-8 weeks  they were the ducks guts back then.

I will admit to running them too! At the time, we all thought they were the ducks but! Then we moved on to Avons! Then when tyres really got good we had Metzler ME33's! ANd they were the ducks! Sorta

You mean Metzeler Lazer ME33's like the ones still on the Pearl ?? They are the ducks guts, funny thing with the ME33's, the pattern has not changed one iota since mid 80's, not sure about compound ? But these are really the only tyre to use on old dungers (anything with a 19" front wheel anyway  ), unless you can find some new K591 Dunlops

They may be a little ......err......crusty by now though Gos!

But they were the go on the H when I had it. 19 inch wheels love them! :)

Huh ? These are still available *brand new* mate, the front one on the Pearl is only 18 months old, and still got at least another 2 years to go ...

All the BMW mob use ME33's for their boxer twins, its the only real choice if you want anything that *remotely* resembles a sticky tyre in 19"...

The front looks like an old Avon Roadrunner, can't remember the specific tyre number............the back one looks like a Continental Super-Tourer??
