Sometimes it will be a combination of both reducing swingarm width and frame mods to get the correct width.......

My question is do I swap over the stems- machine off old weld on gsx and press it into zx6 lower clamp or, do I extend the zx6 stem ?( btw is the zx6 stem just a press fit or is it threaded in like some euro bikes?) if I swap over the stems I will need to machine out the top clamp to accommodate the top of the stem as the zx stem reduces in diameter up the top. Can post a pic or two when I get home.......

The next one of these conversions I have to do - is a GPz1100 stem into a 2003 Z1000 lower clamp. This is for the throwback streetfighter build (ZX6RR forks, '03 Z1000 clamps, '05 ZX10R swingarm & shock and '03 Z1000 wheels - onto an '84 GPz1100 frame & motor combo. This will be a fun build![]()
