I'm a newbie with a tired 1984 zx750e1 which needs a new primary chain and I want to replace the oil pump while its down.
Finding this site has been pure gold! Just when I thought I was a bit demented about old Krackers I find there's a heap of nutters out there.
My question for Gosling1 is - will a primary chain and an oil pump from a 83 - 86 gpz750 fit into the zx? I suppose the question isn't so much will it fit but are the parts from these two models interchangeable.
Mate I don't expect any bloke to know the answer to all of these obscure questions, but any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

You *cannot* fit an early Z900 / Z1000 motor into the z650/z750 frame. You can however fit the later GpZ1100 or Z1000J motors into the smaller frames. The reason is that the early 900s and thou's had the kickstart casting at the rear of the cases, the later 1000's and 1100's don't, and thus can be squeezed into a 650 or 750 frame.
