Rickman Z900

That looks to be in very tidy nick - nice find Mike.

I have never ridden a Rickman of any sort, would love to try one out sometime, just to see what they are all about.......there used to be a Rickman Z9 floating around Anarchy Road many years ago.......it was pretty rough around the gills, but went OK....

That one on the ebay link looks all stock as well - proper period 3-fin Lockheed brakes, and the original Rickman forks - I think from memory these were Ceriani forks, sourced from Italy ?? The proper Rickman swingarm is also fitted.......that bike probably has a reserve of $20k.

To be honest - I think I would prefer a Harris or Macintosh frame rather than a Rickman. The trellis frames are just sex.

If ever there was a replica frame that is about the easiest of the lot to do......it would have to be an Egli.

I like the Harris trellis frames, not sure they were ever done with the Zs though.

Oh yeah, they made Harris frames for Zeds....I have a couple of really nice pics of one of the Sydney Z Owners members Harris Kawasaki.....it was a really nice rig, but I never got to ride the bastard !!

I remember that bike, it used to belong to the guy who managed Eastern Creek MC Wreckers. He brought it out from the UK, rebuilt it from the ground up, and sold it to a mate, who onsold it to someone else - dirt cheap as I recall, and it was going to be raced. Mind you, that was years agao, and it never re-surfaced.

I always thought it was an ugly thing, but obviously very period looks.

A mate in the very early CRRC days had a Rickman Honda 750, the orange coloured one. Gos has a couple of pics of him from the day. His nickname was "Grub" so when he dragged out the Rickman for a club day, he got the new nickname, "Grubastini"
