My brothers first bike was a K1 Sv650S...ok, but I wouldn't want to own it  He has a FZ6n now, which is ok, but the Z has more presence.

firstly wanted to know the difference between an 03 - 04 model Z750

If their are any common problems i should know about and what i should expect to pay.

Also has anyone got any negative info on the z. only thing i can think of is the weight. but hey its not a super sport 195 aint too bad!

I'm one of the fortunate one's to own a Z1000, a very simalar bike to the 750. The one big problem I have with my bike, and you will have the same if you decide to buy one is, you'll have too much fun riding it!

I've never ridden a SV650 but people do rate them so get yourself a test ride before they replace it with the rumored 'butt ugly' 07 model.

I have ridden a Z750 though, very nice little bike for the cash. The handling is a bit strange if you're used to a super-sports as it tips into the bends very quickly and you seem to sit on top of the front wheel....almost like a trails bike. Also as mentioned the suspension is a bit on the soft side and the brakes are nothing to write home about (still great for the money though). My only other reservation about buying a Z750/Z1000 at the moment is that they *may* be updating it next year with a better spec (fingers crossed for upside downers and radial brakes!).

Also take a ride on an ER6F as it's received some rave reviews :D
