well, i went up yesterday and checked the bike out. My mate rode it, said it rode fine except the front brake didnt grip like his and the clutch cable had some slack in it. So we had a look n theres oil coming from the front forks and running onto the disc. the dealer said hell fix that for us no charge.
He wanted 4500 for the bike but we werent going to pay that! Had a look at his jackets n helmets - found a jacket for $330 and a helmet for $270. Asked him what his best price would be for the bike, helmet n jacket - the dealer came back and said $4500 for the 3!!! So he practically threw in 600 bux worth of gear for nothing!!!
Anyway, we played hard to get and said ill have a think about it. But im gonna ring him this morning and say fix the seal n clutch cable and its mine!!! god damn im excited :D :D :D
good deal you think :?:
sorry for the long post  but im excited! :D

blown fork seals, that's about 2 hours of work if ya know what your up to. Or 4 days dicking about if you d.i.y. ;-).
Just make sure that he cleans the disc up and replaces the pads on the brakes as they could have the fork fluid absorbed into them. This = fecked brakes

Just HOW much oil was comin out anyway? i blew my seals before and nowhere near anything like you described happened (i could ride it quite safely for 2 months before getting the guts up & parts to fix it)

The clutch cable is an easy fix, though make sure you ask him to lube the clutch & throttle cables too as those things can deteriorate if not looked after.
The looseness could be 1) loosened nuts (fair enough), 2) worn clutch (it happens, its designed to) 3) clutch cable stretch & corrosion (this is why you lube, to lubricate the movement and keep water out.

If it hurts, you aren't doing it right.

with my old gpx250 i had the same problem with the brake system not being too good.

Replace to better pads and put new oil as well as bleed properly and they were awesome.

I'd definately make sure the disk is cleaned and the pads changed (along with the new seals).

Otherwise, sounds like your on a winner.

At least you'll know that when the time comes to trade or sell it that you should get a good deal. They can always sell 250's.

Good move mate. The best part of it is you figured outearly that team green is the way to go.
We've got a couple of WA riders now so hook up with 'em if you guys can arrange it.
Just think, coz the price of 250's are always inflated, you can upgrade to a 6, 7, or 9r for about 2k once your restrictions are off.
Take care and have shit loads of fun. Remember all the skiils you learn now transfer onto bigger bikes in the future so go and practice your arse off. :D
I'm probably moving to Perth in about 24months so we might catch up and you can show me all those roads you're a bout to discover. :P

your not he only one who makes long posts
It is far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even if chequered with failure, than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, as they live in grey twilight that knows no victory nor defeat.
