Postby Phil » Thu Aug 05, 2004 7:54 am

well tim and i picked up the gpx afetr its major jetting changes last night. the thing is going like a rocket. the mechanic has officially told him to "take it out and thrash the spuds of it". :D

so, sunday we are going for a ride, prolly to macq pass, anyone want to come lemme know, we'll be leaving early so we're back by 12. 8)

ian, you should here the thing now, it really makes a racket, in fact i couldnt hear the zx9 as i was sitting next to him as he accelerated.

i think the smile on his face was a good indication of how it was performing. :D

i can already comment on the handling as i rode it before it went in for the jetting.

STIFF is the word that springs to mind, that frame brace certainly works. the suspension feels pretty good too, then again after the money he spent on it it would want to. :D

the brakes are ALOT better than i remember them, especially now that he has the right pads in.

the ehaust is the formula 1 headers and megacycle can, but the noise is a deeeeeep bellow, sounds like it REALLY means business.

tim picked up all the new painted body work on monday so pics will prolly have to wait a week or two untill he puts that on, looks sensational too aparently (i havent seen it)

Damn - can't make it this sunday :(
Bout time he was able to give it a good run though - look forward to next time.
Is the paint job done yet? or still a mismatch?

Is this bike a track bike or road reg'd, cause if it's LOUD, isn't he asking to be booked??? I'm scared to enter NSW with a non stock can, let alone something that sounds good = loud...

when he rebuilt it he used the "86" chassis and most of his "88" bits. the laws in nsw are for motorcycles manufactures after 11/86, the chassis is a 9/86.....how farkin lucky is that.

what made it louder last night was the fact he was - um - giving it some stick, if he rode normally (unlikely as those of you who know him will know) it prolly would'nt be too bad.

Mate Mate Maaaaaaaaaate,

We need piccies!

Soft-focus pics of the bike seductively reclining on its side-stand, with or without fairing, I'm easy
