GPZ1100 Carbs leaking.

Postby yorkieUK » Thu Dec 24, 2015 1:02 am

Hi All. help.gif
My '82 GPZ1100 started peeing fuel out of the #2 carb. It comes out of the bottom drain when the engine is running.
Only started on the way home last night. Could it be the throttle slide that is stuck? :?:
Thought I'd get some feedback :prayer: before I started stripping it in case I needed to order any parts.

Had a similar problem with my Z1r.
Tracked it down to an aftermarket bowl gasket not allowing the float to move freely.

You could try tapping that carb with something...it may free up the float.
Other than that...replace the float needle.

Give the bowl a tap mate..Might be a stuck needle for the float.

If you haven't been fiddling with it could be a bit of crap stuck in the needle seat preventing it from sealing properly. If the tap doesn't work you may been to pull off the bowl and give it a clean. As well as the tap give a good rock to see if it dislodges anything stuck in the seat (but cleaning it is the best option cause you'll be surprised what you find in the bowl even if you run inline fuel filters).
