exhaust headers

Postby TONY-J » Wed Feb 01, 2012 6:53 pm

Hi, some may or may not know that my zzr1100 headers had been modified with a flage before it split into two, so that made it a easy option to make a link pipe and muffler of my choice and make a 4into1.
well a full aftermarket system came up for the 1100 so i went down that road instead.

I also have a gpz900r with standard pipes so my question is will the zzr1100 headers bolt onto the gpz900r so i can make a 4into1 for it ??

Thanks in advance.

I thought this one had been sorted out in another thread ?? Must have been another exhaust issue....

The 1100 headers should bolt up as these motors (900R, 1000RX, ZX10, ZZR1100 etc) are all based on the same basic block. Not sure about the bend on the 1100 headers, and you can bet that none of the rear mounts will fit - but like any exhaust, mods are pretty easy to make. If you can get a 4-1 collector made up, then it will be pretty easy to knock up a good zorst for your 900R :kuda:

yeah i was asking some questions about the 1100 exhuast but for the 1100 in another thread using the same idea.
rear mounts are no probs as it flanges just after the collecter, so then i can make a flanged link pipe with 1 muffler and a mount where needed.

i was just after alittle info on if they (1100 4into1 with flange after colloector ) will bolt onto the 900 as i remember you saying that they are based on the same block, but was wondering about ground clearance also becuase as you would know the 900 uses a horse shoe style frame and the 1100 a twin spar/delta box ( you get it :P :P )style.

i will just have to pull the oem off an see how it fits and go from there.

thanks a heap for your help, advice and knowledge gos. :kuda: :kuda:
