GPX Streetfighter

Postby outtalive » Sun May 15, 2005 3:08 pm

Any GPX owners here toyed with removing some of the fairings to create a more streetfighter look? Was thinking that if you removed the side fairings but added some kind of bracket to allow you to keep the bottom fairing on securely you'd create a pretty mean looking machine...

Sorry, just bored and wondering how I can make my bike different while I wait till I can upgrade

theres a few on http://www.bikepics.com/kawasaki, look for the gpx & gpz series photos. I'd point out individual ones that i had in mind, but unfortunately bikepics is severely misbehaving for me today.

I've seen a naked gpx750 in the metal and i don't mean mine without the fairing, but a de-faired (is there such a word?) one. Didn't look bad, but as i said, have a look and then think about it.

Ask TY of he has any photo's of his old GPX sans fairings ... from what I undersatnd it wasn't so much a Streetfighter mod as a 'oh fark all my fairings exploded' mod, but they were missing all the same. :D

I am currently riding mine around without the lower fairing as I was repairing an oil leak and can't be arsed putting it back on!

Some bikies just look better streetfightered / nakefied than others. I don't think it really suits the GP's.

Some of those images from Mike-S didn't look so bad, if you just remove the mid-section it seems to keep a bit of toughness. Even the uglified one looked alright

I'm pretty tempted to try it out, for one thing I'm jack of the windscreen directing wind straight into my face on the hwy.

If you do go ahead, especially with the removing part of the fairing, make *SURE* you plan it ahead propperly and reinforce the parts of the fairing that remain on the bike.

:D I'll have a look - but I don't think I ever took pics of it sans fairings ;)
I'll post here if I find some.
