before i upgraded my zzr250 in for a new zx9r i traded it in with 96899kms. It was still going very strong.... considering it was lugging my hefty ass around. I did however pull the motor down to decarbon the heads/ new seals just cause one was leaking and i thought change em all. I would still have it if i didnt look like a monkey screwing a basketball everytime i rode it... and also i just had to prove my manhood by upgrading to a bigger bike

Things will run for a long time if you
1. Do regular maintenance by halving the recomended maintainence schedule.
2. Be fussy about your bike.. almost anal ( am i allowed to say that)
3. Dont be stingy with the wallet if you want it to last.
Dont leave things with the "she'll be right" mechanic/or yourself and it will treat you well.
