my gpz900r (88 model) feels 'twitchy' at road legal speeds! it has got near new tyres, correct fork oil levels, springs the same length, etc. etc.
anyone got any ideas on this? any suggestions would be much appreciated.

cheers,

ok
ignore the usual..tyres are stuffed..as you report them as ok
so
start with the basics....
is the front tyre/wheel square in the forks?
front brakes not rubbing?
is the front axle loose?
are the steering head bearings ok? not too loose, not too tight?
not worn and lubed correct?
frame not bent? cracked? crash damage?
are the bars/clips on secure? loose ones will make it nervous
is the rear wheel square in the swingarm?
ignore markings and use a ruler!
is the rear wheel in line with the front?
is the rear axle tight?
are the swing arm bearings ok? not loose so swing arm slops around...
are the wheel bearings ok (front or rear)
are the tyres on the right way? (don't laff it happens!!!)

just a few things to check....
cheers

Do the tyres Match same type of belt construction ?, just cause they may be same Brand $/or model doesnt mean they will match each other.

hey Haggi,

My 84 GPz900R is at it's most stable when at top speed and somewhat nasty only when at crawling pace. Check all of what Smitty said... print it out and go down the list...

Where abouts are you located? I'll dob in one of the members (Lucas) he knows lots about the GPz's. Leave him a PM and I'm sure after he finishes abusing me he'll point ya in right direction.

Cheers

i know this will sound stupid but what are the tyre pressures?

too high and the bike wiill feel as twitchy as it would sluggish in under-inflated.
