GPz900 Exhaust

Recently discovered some snapped welds and some serious rust on the headers on my project bike.... rather than try and fix it, i've thought of just replacing it with a 4 into 1 system... not really a fan of the stock 4 into 2...

I'm fairly new with this stuff, so peoples opinions would be appreciated, also some links to good places to look as well :)

Mate with the GPZ you would have a fair few options, just depends on the amount of $$$ you want to spend.
You can get great systems in Australia like Megacycle or Formula 1 and no doubt you could get the more expensive Yoshie's etc.
I have a 86/88 GPX750R that I restored and it had twin pipes like the 9 and I now have a Formula 1 headers with a Megacycle muffler, looks good and sounds great.
Just check and make sure you can keep the centre stand with the option you go as some require you to remove it for them to fit.

Its great to see others starting up old Kawa money pits, I've been addicted for years, up to about $30K when she returns soon with the new motor !!!

Yeah, I don't want to spend a bucket load at the moment, but I do have 10months to finnish restoring it until I get off my P's.

have had Gosling and ProblemChild around to give me a hand with it, all Gos needed to do was touch the thing and she started :shock:

Cost me $750 to get formula-1 pipes for my GPX about 5 years ago now ($790-800ish including postage all up). They are a locally made product & looked pretty good too (small pic, big pic) and my one at least was able to work around the centrestand. From memory the megacycle one required the centrestand be removed, which kind of steered me away from them.

Best to figure out your pricerange and get pricelists and then email them & ask about what they can do for your bike, also if you go with their product you have a choice of a few cannisters to go with the headers & link pipe too, (p.s. they deal direct as well as going through dealers, my preference was direct as i was going to fit the things myself, i just didn't have the luxury of taking it back to a local bike shop for refund/repair if something stuffed up).
