Fuel Filter on GPX250

Postby kc » Thu Oct 19, 2006 7:49 am

Can anyone tell me if there is a fuel filter fitted on the GPX250 and where it is located. I had some bad fuel put into it last week (at least I think it was bad fuel as it started to splutter and choke a few kms after I put the fuel in), and I want to empty the tank and change the fuel filter to see if that will fix the problem. I've had a look at the manual that Lanie gave me but I can't seem to find anything in it about this filter's location on the bike (doesn't even mention it on the service intervals section), so I'm sort of wondering if it actually exists.

Thanks

the OEM kawasaki fuel filter is a pissy little mesh tip ontop of the fuel tap, it sits inside the fuel tank.

so dont bother replacing it cause it doesnt actually trap any particles, just doesnt let them in.

edit: oh if you want to service it, just unscrew the tap, pull it out, then take off the little brass tube, and flush it out, mine had some gunk in it.

if you want to , you can open up the fuel tap but watch out for the little rubber seal / diaphragm in there.
