buy one only if the stories inspire you

from a review of the mighty kwakka tripple.

for some reason i'm compelled to be a machine that is completely insane and will cost me shite-loads in fuel and oil.

anyone know anything about these legendary machines?
and how i get my hands on one? or the parts so i can build one?
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Vin

you are of course talking about the mighty
500cc Kwaka H1...aka the MachIII
was my second bike :P

and I have already posted up an article on the site..........

you want one...?
Trading Post or swap meets is the best
parts..?? good luck
You can find a bit now and then on eBay
but usually overseas ..they are big in the yewessofhay

and yes..they were insane to ride.....
would throw you off as quick as look at ya
and
totally ecologically unfriendly..the amount of oil and fuel
they consumed was phenomenal ....but cheap in the 70s

cheers

Diesel , you do not want one of these bikes, Even though I love 'em, they are cantakerous, ill-handling pigs, that are just as likely to pitch you over the bars with a tankslapper, as they are to seize, and pitch you over the bars......

they were a *legend* motorcycle back in 1968 when they were released, but *legendary* for all the wrong reasons......( apart from the stonking acceleration, unheard of at the time....

these days, any 600 would *flog* a 500 triple........

if you *really* want a good triple, try and find a 400........they were a better bet all round - try the Vintage Jap M/C.....

i still want one.
not to ride really, more for restoration purposes.
tho the 400 does sound like a good option as well.

OK, the 1974 S3 was the first of the 400's, and is described in Ian Falloon's book "The Kawasaki Story" as *.....possibly the finest Kawasaki Triple of that period* (quote lifted directly from US mag 'Cycle World').

The S3 evolved into the KH400A3 of 1976, it retained the rubber-mounted engine of the S3 (which was the main reason that the 400's got such rave reviews........it was *way* smoother than other models), and it also was fitted with CDI ignition.

A 1976 model 400 is a thing of beauty mate, and also much more rider-friendly......
