GPX250 1988

Just bought my daughter one for a first bike. It needs a coupla things so I gotta ask a few questions.

1. Does anyone have a manual for one? would prefer a disc or is there somewhere I can go to get one? I'm not that savvy with the internet thing i.e. searching

2. I have been told they have the same motor as the ZZR, but is there anything else that is interchangeable? Don't want to get ripped off at the wreckers

Anything I should know about them?

well its a half truth about the motor, the basic design is the same, except there are minor changes as the models progress. One minor (but still the biggest diff ive seen yet) is the oil filler hole is positioned differently, and the same goes for the clutch actuator on the engine. Aside from that, and minor "make it look tidier" enhancements, its basically the same.

Heck you might even be able to fit later model peices onto the early model bike and get a better designed bit of machinery. But still, always look it up, places like http://www.bikebandit.com and http://www.buykawasaki.com have the microfiche's online so you can compare part numers, and even to a certain degree, appearance of different parts.

ha ha yeh little, my daughter is over 6'1" and it does look little when she's on it, oh well she only needs it for another 6-9 months, then she reckons she's getting something bigger than mine

I had one too. Mine was a grey import with twin disk's on the front and black everything. Great bike, easy to throw around and drag the boot's and peg's through corner's with. Sold it to a guy i work with so i still get to take it for a spin every now and then.

Yeah mine had twin disks at the front... Didnt know it wasnt standard....

The Ninja 250 is the GPX250. Confusingly I think the ZZR250, which isn't sold in the States, is sold in Canada under the same name...

Stonneville, for my money go and buy the riggie manuals, I got both the base manual and the model specific one from Brighton Kwaka for around the $75 mark, well worth it
