GPX helmet lock??

Guy's on the GPX is a lock near the seat release lock, i think it's used to lock a helmet but it seems a bit hard to do. Can anyone please enlighten me on what this lock is used for and if a helmet how to use it.

From what I can recall it is a helmet lock and I gather (if memory serves me correctly) you would lock your helmet to it by the 'D' rings.

Yeah that's what i thought, i did that and the helmet hangs down and rests on the hot muffler.

That is correct. That is why I never used the helmet lock on my GPX250
I did purchse a bike cable lock so I could lock my helmet elsewhere to the bike.

im with u !!!! My partner and I have sat scratching our heads wondering how our helmet is meant to lock on.... not very user friendly is it haha.. and when it is there, it dangles onto the hot muffler..

stupid design or we are all stupid riders.. im going more with the design haha

I didn't say it was a good design, I just said it was a helmet lock .

The Hornet helmet lock is a lot better, it's a plastic-coated wire-rope cable that you can string through the helmet and lock it to the seat...not that I use it as I have a Givi top box. I guess the GPX is more old-school.

Hey crumpet, when i was looking at buying a GPX i noticed it then and asked what it was for, they said it was to lock your helmet to the bike.....cool i thought.....anyway after buying one i went to use it for the first time, i unlocked it and then thought right ok so i must put the ring through it then close it......which wasn't easy mind you.......ok done that now carefully let the helmet down to rest and it hit the muffler.......i'm like WHAT THE!!!!!!! stupid idea........i thought i must be doing something wrong. Turns out i'm not hey it's just there design......lol

MAKE SURE YOU CAN STILL GET YOUR KEY IN BEFORE YOU LOCK IT ....................... But try doing up the chin strap (makes it shorter) and putting your hand through the helmet visor to access the lock. helmet should stay high enough off the zoorsst

haha just not a easy lock to function .. there is probably a way of doing it, I think smithy is right.. I just take my helmet with me. Bloody people these days, you can not trust just leaving stuff on the side of the road when u go do something..
