Help - ZZR250 Clutch lever spring

I decided to change the clutch level on my ZZR250 as it was missing the end ball due to previous owners drop.

As I was taking out the broken clutch level a small gold/brass coloured spring popped out.. Bugger if I could work out where its supposed to go..

I put it back together and everything seems to be working fine...

Anyone got any ideas where the bloody spring goes?

Cheers
Tony

it *might* be something to do with the clutch 'lock-out' switch ?? assuming of course you have one of these

Yep I have a lock-out switch.. You might be onto something as I did notice the dial is now easier to turn.. Any idea where? inside the dial? around the edge?

take your lever off , and check to see if there is any type of 'indentation' or 'pocket' on the inside of the lever, somewhere around the pivot point.....if there is, chances are that the spring has fallen out of this spot........it will be a bit fiddly to get it back in, you may need to use just a tiny 'dob' of grease to hold it in position while you re-fit the lever......

I took a pic for you. The spring keeps tension on the lever to allow the lever position cam to do its job without changing.

Thanks for the pic..

Took me a matter of seconds once I had the lever off.. I cant believe I didnt see the bloody spot for the spring.. I can be such a idiot sometimes (some might say all the time)...
