I've looked thru the manual (ta Rossi) 600 times (no pun intended) but, can I exchange a speedo cable from the taco end? I know it removes from the front wheel but can it be done at the clocks.

I ask this without pulling the fairing off to look... LAZY I know but saves me doing it B4 I need to....

If someone can help?

If it is the same as the ZZR12, and I would bet it is, you can only remove the inner cable from the bottom, i.e. the wheel end....and that would be easier too- the clocks are a bugger to get to on the 1200- front upper fairing removal required...not so on the 1100- another area where the ZZR1100 was better than the 1200.....retards....

I'm not exactly sure what you mean regarding exchanging from the taco (speedo?) end, the speedo cable does need to be disconnected both ends to swap it out.

Mine broke internally at the wheel end. I followed the instructions I posted elsewhere on this site for replacing the headlight bulb (http://www.ksrc-au.com/html/zzr_headlight_change.html) and was able to unscrew the speedo end with this minor bit of stuffing around. Just follow the instructions to move the horn out of the way and you can get you hand and arm up there pretty easily..unless you have arms like Arnold Schwarzenegger...then you'll need to bribe someone else to do it. (or if you're built like Arny - threaten to rip them new one if they don't).

So yes, I was able to exercise the lazy option and no fairing removal was required.

$20 for a speedo cable from Vic Motorcycle Wreckers and 5 mins to fit it after taking off the cover surrounding the clocks.

Tho I was looking at the Pitty Replica with the full Arrow system they had there.... yummm prob was the $4500 he wanted for it was a tad outa my league.... lol
