Hey I was just wondering what rpm I should set Zed at idle, since I got him back from the shop and had non-stop prroblems with stalling, even when hot. i got the mechanic guy to have a look and he reset the idle to 1500rpm's, but I'm thinking that's too high... running hot in traffic. Where do the rest of you baby Z owners keep your idle setting? Cheers -J.

1300 ... as per owners manual.

OK, I didn't think of checking there :oops:

Now don't tell me... I'm going to have to read the owners manual to find out how to adjust it down, right? OR... You could tell me how to do it

there's a little star shaped black knob :shock:

on the left hand side just above the engine casing. shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Make sure the bike's nice and warm before you adjust it though, and rev it between adjustments.
Setting the idle can be finicky at times.
If it's not warm, or you don't rev it and let it settle back to idle between adjustments you can easily get it wrong.

I put mine at slightly below 1500rpm.

It isn't that big a deal...you'll find that is probably an allowable idle, as they do allow for wear and so forth. Could be something else though...

If it is running hot in traffic, then you might have some other problem, like an airlock in the cooling system, fan not working, vacuum line on the carby not working...or something.

I'm with hammer on this one - my bike displays 108 degree's when im sat in traffic. so I just lane split before my nuts fry

umm ussually it will say in manual 1250 rpm +/- 100
or sumthing similar..its just to show it may be bloody hard to get it spot on...neway as smek said 1300rpm, i shouldnt think 1500 would b too bad, cept ull use more fuel & toast ur "girlie bits"
