ZZR1100 Exhaust

Postby jlucas89 » Mon May 01, 2017 5:14 pm

Hi Guys,

I am in the process of looking at what options there are to replace the heavy stock exhaust system. So far I haven't had much lunch finding anywhere (In OZ) that has anything for the ZZR1100 anymore being such an old girl. I was wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom. The only success on the internet is black widow exhausts in the UK do a complete system.

I have heard that the ZZR1200 header/downpipe is a direct fit on the 1100 which then gives you the flexibility to add whichever slip ons you desire, rather than the single piece welded debacle on the 1100. Anyway does any know of any success stories fitting an aftermarket exhaust to the mighty zed?

Thanks in advance.

If ZZR1200 downpipes fit, then an option would be Delkevic.

Have a look here.

I have Staintunes fitted to my 1200, but they're a bit pricey these days ($1400).

Also, zzr bikes site: write up.

I had a set on an FJ1200, and they were excellent.

I'm assuming from the comment about the 'welded debacle' that yours is a D model.
ZZR1200 headers are a straight swap - if you can find some. The Delkevic is a great muffler for the money. I have a pair on my GTR using ZX14 headers.
We've got a pair of Staintunes that allegedly came off a ZZR1100C and it was going to be waaaay too much work to modify them to fit the D model.
