ZX-9R + nos?

just a random thought...

if I were to put together a fully working NOS setup on a B model ZX-9R,
would anyone pay a decent price for it?

I was thinking low enough to be reliable, but enough to make a busa-eater perhaps?

In a word, no.

1. Chances are the installation will be a custom fit (at least in ths country) and, depending on whether you do it yourself, get the ricer shop down the road to do it or drop it by Ron Solomon's, it will take either a long time, a very long time, or (relatively speaking) fucking forever, and it will cost between 20% and 40% of what a stock-ish B-model ZX9 is worth.
2. You'll recover, maybe, 10% of the cost of the installation in the sale price of the bike.
3. By using NOS as a selling point, you'll drive away the sorts of secondhand bike buyers to whom a 10-year-old, comfy sumo sportsbike normally appeals while failing to attract the attention of people who'd be prepared to consider that sort of performance mod, but who also tend to be sufficiently attention-deficient to fail to fathom that, prior to the appearance of the R1 and the Hayabusa, bikes other than CBR250RR's used to exist.

I suddenly have Vanilla ice/ice ice baby running through my head.

Of course substitute the word "rice" in there and your on the money.

nope, never met anyone with nos on a bike before, just read a bit about it :)

yeh its not a particularly hard or expensive job, and would be great fun on a dragstrip :)

how exactly do you classify a +40 or so HP mod as rice?

its not like my original post was "how much extra could I sell my bike for if I put a NOS sticker on it"

Had a dragcar on the giggle once
wasnt that hard to do
but when it does go wrong shit happens really quick
like it wasnt running 100% one day threw flames out the scoop 6 feet
Dont think i'd want that to happen on a bike

I'd go turbo
once the ZX10R comes going to turbo the old GPZ1000RX and take it out on the salt

eek! dont want to think what those flames would do to a rider

turbo is a lot more work, but I will do it eventually :) let me know how you go with the GPZ, I'd be interested to see how it goes :D
