hey guys, i've just picked up a zzr1100 and want to know peoples opinions on what are the best mods for it.
so it would be nice if people could list a mod, what power increase or advantages for that mod, and a rough cost of the mod.

i'm interested in anything that can better the bike weather it be performance, suspension or handling or cosmetic and visual.

it would also be great if you could point me in the right direction as to where to get the parts for the mod if possible aswell.

Mine is stock, however I did put in a BMC (like a K&N) sports air cleaner in it.

Made a ton of difference in accelleration.

Nothing beats regular servicing either.

ok cheers, i just done a full service (minus air filter )and checked valve clearance's tonight lol, but im going to get a new air filter in the morning.
with a k&n or similar did you have to rejet at all ??????

no. just straight filter change.

just been to the bike shop, had to order one in, its cheaper to go k&n then replace with original????

Axle flip. Lifts the back of the bike about 30mm, effectively changing the rake of the forks.

Makes the bike tip into corners sooooooooooo much better. A whole new bike!

Warning: This also lifts the seat (about 20mm).

My bike also has braided front brake lines and a White Power nitrogen-charged, dial-adjustable rear shock.

Oh, it's also for sale.

a 65 series front tyre is another good up grade for handling!

cheers guys, axle flip is already on the cards was one of the first things i was going to do, im just making one change at a time at the moment to really see what effect it has.
braided lines will definitely be in near future plans.

where did you get your rear shock from and what was the cost?????

front tyre due soon so will look into the 65 series option also

The only mod I've done is the axle-flip. All other mod's were on the bike when I bought it so I can't help with a place / cost for the shock, sorry.

Hi, I have just fitted 6 pot calipers off a gsxr1000 (had to get an adaptor kit about $40) just a few bolts really. oh my god! i can now stop! the lever doesn't pull all the way to the bar anymore.

hahahahahaahaaaa, after riding around on a old rz that feels as if the lever is going to snap the zzr brake arn't to bad YET lol, all upgrades to make anything better though will be done in due time lol.
what year model did you get the gsxr1000 brakes off of and where did you get the adaptor kit ????

I've heard of the Gixxer brake upgrade. Great idea.

The Calipers need to come from a 2000 0r 2001 K1 or K2 i bought some from a bike wrecker in Silverwater $300, but check out ebay USA They are gold and look brilliant. You use all the same brake lines, banjo's fit straight on. Only thing different i found is the bleed nipple is 8mm instead of the 10mm on ZZR.I have pasted a link to the supplier of the adaptor kit, they also have a youtube installation guide.
Could you let me know what axle flip is? i have never heard of it.

cheers mate, a axle flip is where you position your axle on the adjuster, you can turn the round piece that your axle sits in so the back wheel is higher (bike lower ) or spin it 180 degrees so the back of the bike is higher and in turn increases your fork angle for quicker steering.

sorry if its a little confusing but i couldn't think of how to explain it any better.
