ZZR 250 Tyres

Hi All,

Going to be ready for some new tyres soon but... I don't have a clue which ones.

I ride daily, about 15km to work. I can open up for a few kms of that but the rest is traffic which means I have no time to warm the tyres up, which means i need something pretty sticky from cold. I currently have goodyears on (not sure which model) but they don't warm up very fast. With winter hitting and the it flooding like Noahs Ark out there, i want to get something good...

Any advice people?

Thanks

the Bridgestone BT45 seem to be a popular one. They give good grip with a good amount of longevity.
Also there is the Pirelli Sport Demon which some people tend to talk up. ive never tried them however.

Google some reviews on these and see which one you like best

Another vote for BT45's here. Had them for agess on my old non-17" rimmed bikes. The aeromax's on my gsx-250 seem to be doing alright, but i haven't taken them out for a good flogging yet mind you.

bt45 gets my vote too. although they aren't the stickiest tyres in the world, they are a HUGE improvement from the stock tyres.

they're a great tyre for commuting too as the centre has a hard compound.

i have dunlop arrowmax on my bike. what are peoples thoughts on them... so far in the 114kms i have ridden they have let go on abit of water ( at a roundabout goin pretty slow ) n seem abit slip alittle on the rear on a few bends.

on my gpx250's (yeah, plural) i had battlaxes (nice but expensive), dunlop gt301's (cheap and not too bad) and some old worn avon 125gp wets (attrocious when cold, god knows how expensive they were new, but when hot gripped like shit to a very sticky blanket!)

my only gripe with the battlaxe is they feel iffy and slippy cold on the side compound
the dunlops were ok but cupped badly when you tried really hard (come to think about it, not trying that hard

stock tyres are total rubbish and dangerous. bt45 is good, not super sticky, but if you commute as well then they are a good compromise.

I have run a BT45 on the rear of my old z900 combined with a really old michellin commander and funnily it even managed to stay upright at broadford
