1996 zzr600 engine interchange

Hi everyone. Just new to this site and thought I could ask if anyone knew what motors I could interchange for my 1996 zzr600. Current motor has shit itself and I need to fix asap. Gearbox is a bit crap so might as well get new unit. Any mods need to be done for other models. ie exhaust? Any info would be great! Thanx in advance.

I think they're all the same? my 1996 model has a 2000 engine in it.
