Hi All,
New on the forum. I've been reading some very informative materials on this site and help me a lot in some problem i encountered with my bike. I Ride ZX6R as my weekend ride 02 model with 636 engine. Last carby model.
I also have ZZR 250 for my weekdays ride witch is giving me problem at the moment. I hope someone can help me or guide me to the right direction. As per normal in ZZR 250, the bike wont idle. She is happy to rev but of you release the throttle she struggle to hold in idle and die.
What I've done on the bike was:
Strip the carby
removed the jet needle, pilot jet needle, jet holder, main jet, float and needle and the diaphragm.
Cleaned the carby by soaking in the ultrasonic cleaner with degrease 25% and water 75%, water temperature was about 20deg. Soak it for 15 min in the ultrasonic cleaner and blow all jets with compress air.All cleaned like new. No damage on the jets.
Put back all together and the all jets in designated carby. Set the pilot screw in 2.5turns
Install the carby to the engine. check all hose and install the airbox. (pain int he neck to install)
I stared the engine but the problem still persist. The bike idle at 3500rpm, if i put into 1st gear the idle drop, once i accelerate it stay back in 3500rpm and after a few sec. it will drop slowly to 1000rpm and die. I have not done yet the carby balancing because the bike won't idle. I double check if there's any air leak, but all are intact. The only thing that i did not check when assembling is the float height. According to the manual its 17mm +/- 2mm. therefore the tolerance is not too critical. Any Input from you guys is highly appropriated.
