92 ZZR250 not idling

Postby kransky.dan » Thu Nov 01, 2007 8:34 am

Hi all,
Im a real noob at this so bare with me if you can.
Got a zzr250 that seems to either flood / change fuel mixture every 8000 - 10000km.

I have tried changing the idle speed and when the issue is present it just dies. When starting in the mornings its leaving black stuff over the wall behind it.

From what I have gathered (just a guess) it is either over fueling or the mixture is wrong.
Any ideas / suggestions.

Being a noob my mechanics are good (to say the least) but willing to learn.

Thanks in advanced for the help.

Cheers
Dan

hmmm, black stuff on the wall is no good.. Could be burning oil and if it does it only on start up is probly a valve stem seal.

Apart from that, I'd clean the carbs and check the float levels. Make sure the fuel lines have no kinks in em and the breather isn't blocked..

I'm sure others will have more info to add.

Good luck
