what kind of hp were they getting out of zx9rs when they were in superbike form? i went to world superbike at the island in march and they were getting 210hp out of a fireblade. as opposed to its stock hp of 140-150ish. i was interested how much more they were squeezing out of the 9rs

I have an article on the 2001 TKA zx9r from one of the magazines that stated they were getting 150hp at the rear wheel.. and that was with a 970 cc engine kit... but the teams always under estimate the hp...
My zx9 was putting out anywere between 140 and 150 hp at the rear wheel depending on which dyno it went to and the condition of tune..

What mods did you have on your 9R, MadKaw?

its claimed a muzzys 998 kit (reliability aside) will net around 160hp at the wheel with a suitable exhaust... not sure if thats with stock cams or not tho
im sure some pretty wild power could be made from a 9R motor if you had the money to burn

In 98 the world superbikes were 750's and getting about 160 t0 170Hp.
In Aus in 98 they only raced the zx9 in the formula extreme and were getting 150 + hp... according to the mag...
My 9 had a full akro race system, Factory pro jet kit, ignition advancer, a fair bit of head work (porting polishing, increased compression etc), BMC race filter, modified air ducts, 520 chain and alloy sprockets, plus quite a few other non HP mods like shift kit and undercut gearbox, quick action throttle, etc , etc.....
