How many K's from a full tank ZXR 750 94

Whats the opinion
My fuel tap is clogged & will be un clogged the next service that I have time to do & the main prob is that I have to run on RES all the time for the fuel to flow ..... as there is no gauge & just a reserve tap as a last resort I was thinking what sort of mileage other ZXR 750 ppl are getting? to try to work out an average for road usage.
At the moment I am getting approx 230ks before she runs out

i think thats somewhere in the ball park...i get 250 before having to use reserve, mind you, thats only givin it a tiny lil bit of stick here and there

Yep - same here Rob. Down the snowies last week I got 240 including reserve with bugger all left in the tank. That included having a bit of a go at some stages, but after turning on reserve just out of Thredbo, I took it real easy to Jindabyne - still did the speed limit but nursed it a bit.

shit, what am i doing wrong on my zx7r? i'm lucky to get 200k inc reserve, more like around 180 most of the time

possibly says something about my commute to work tho

i normally get 200km's and then reserve on my 97 zx7r

Had a mate years ago with a GPZ 900 & he used to get approx 450 he was the only rider in our group that could go for half a day without a refill
and he was no slouch with the throttle!

Dont know if it helps or not , But I used to ride a 93 ZXR750 L1 from the Gold Coast to Brisbane and back every day (aprox 195Km round trip) and I was monitoring the fuel usage - ended up with an average fuel usage of 4.7 litres / 100Km or just over 60mpg.

This was of course all highway (legalish) running with some traffic work. - of course this dropped a lot in the weekends riding up in the hills!!!!!!!!

Get the seat off, undo the tank fastening bolts, disconnect the fuel line, drain the tank, turn it upside down on a nice clean rag, undo the fittin bolts, remove fuel static pipes, clean the buggers and then reverse this procedure and save yourself $150 on top of your next service.

Cheaper than all the hassle of running out of fuel as well

I think those workmen on the left down towards Windsor Downs were'nt helping matters, another new estate, won't be long before the urban sprawl makes it out our way, we've only got the gap along Richmond Rd spare of population now.


What I have noticed is that in the mornings around 6.30, the amount of traffic that has decided to give Windsor Rd a miss and head up Richmond Rd to the M7.

The bloody jam starts around the sevo opposite Daves place and just runs all the way up to the M7 junction.

The good thing is that after the M7 the roads have really freed up on the run down to the M4 down towards the Creek......but the M4 will always be shithouse on the run into Parra.

The other good thing is that, ya can make a northern beach in just an hour on a nice quiet Saturday or Sunday, now that makes me happy
Bad thing is I haven't got me tag yet so I can't use it, the free time ran out over the holiday

All in all I think it's a great Rd and it beats going down Windsor Rd any day, I think we're just gonna have to bear the increase in traffic and just get on with it mate
