I am about to fit a Akro and remove the cat on the 2015 ZX10R, and was wondering if I need a Power Commander?

Mate
I removed cat and put in link pipe.
Runs fine and haven't worried about a power commander yet.

It is much better with a PC. Can vouch the difference, wouldn't say it's necessary but it's recommended and it works.
You will notice an immediate change providing you've got the right map loaded.

Or you can always tune your ecu. Plenty of shops around - just a matter of finding the better of the lot!

EDIT: Slip on PC not required. Slip on + connecting mid pipe PC required.
Slip on is not required because you have the servo (servo controlled butterfly valve) in your cat which managers exhaust flow and back pressure.
Where as when you remove that cat, you remove the servo and you have a completely free-flowing exhaust and that's where the PC comes into play into adjusting the ratios.

You are better off flashing the ECU than running a Power Comander or Bazzaz. Piggyback modules are old tech.

I had a look on line Gazza and found BC performence at Smithfield
Gave them a ring and they quoted me $850 for a custom map.

I have no idea what the going rate is for a reflash and dyno tune.

Don't know if it's still relevant but I picked up a second hand PC for my Akro full system and used the map from the web - perfect (burbles and spits flames and good improvement according to the bum dyno) made a good bike great!
