Custom 'Shorty' Leo Vince Exhaust for the ZX6R...

Postby Maccarocks » Sun Sep 27, 2015 9:25 pm

I love playing with exhausts, building new ones, shortening mufflers, making up custom pipes and DB reducers, and testing them all at the track !!

This weekend I decided to build a 'shorty' belly pan style exhaust system for my ZX6R.

I had to shorten the Leo Vince carbon muffler by 60mm, make up a link pipe, hanger bracket and it fits perfectly, very solid and plenty of clearance...

Looks and sounds great, nice and deep without being too loud... I cant wait to test it at the track in a couple of weeks !!!

Is it hard to do??

You need a little build thread on how to do Macca.

Cutting the mufflers down is easy once you know the construction and most of them are the same...

You just have to be careful about a few things so it all goes back together nice and looks still 'factory' !!

PLus you dont want to cut them down too short or the muffler is useless and it will sound like crap.. and be worse for performance..

The mid pipes, welding and other flanges etc I get made up for me by a good mate at a muffler shop... he also makes me my custom DB reducers as well...

I should have taken more pics as I put it together, but I will next time for sure !!! :kuda:
