09 zx6r - Kleen

Fri Aug 15, 2014 3:29 pm

Sooo, this thing pops like a bastard, so I figure I'll remove the KLEEN (for off road use only of course).
Does it throw a light if I toss all the crap out.?
If so, is it just simple jump wire or something else.?

Not that I can remember... the only light you'll get is from removing the exhaust servo from under the seat. It will probably still pop without the clean though... mine popped all they till it got a new map.

Yeh, its just running the dynojet supplied map for an akro slip on, it definitely needs a custom jobby.

Kawasaki wsbk team don't even use block off plates. They just join the hoses together Madkaw garage style

My memory is vague after 4 years but it involved:

- Disconnect the tube running from the airbox.
- Block the airbox outlet up so its sealed.
- Cutting a shorter length and running the tubes across so the plates just run from each other. This is cheaper than buying block off plates.
- Leave the plug connected but seal it up with tape and tie it up so it doesnt float about.
- Now I cant remember if I tied off the extra tubing attached to the plug. Just turned it over on itself and cable tied. I cant recall sorry.

This is the 07-08 attached. The system is the same but like I said dont buy block off plates. Just use a length of tube and it acts the same as block off plates

I knew my cheapskate ideas were the best.... :-)

Yeh wasn't going to buy any plates just connect the 2 together, just wasn't sure if it gave an FI light... Some say yes, some no.. Some say you need a resistered plug, others just a staple jumper..?

This,

We did this last time with my old bike, unplugged; the light kept on.

Block off plates helped with minimizing pops but doesn't get rid of it all.

Thanks,
Went the easy way, routed the tubes into each other, blocked the air box hole and left the unit in there.

Heaps less popping...

in the garage anyway... :D

A quick google search said something about it being even more simple. Like blocking off one tube. Let us know how you go :)
