04 ZX10R fuel problem

Postby ZX-10R_04 » Mon Mar 10, 2014 7:41 am

One morning I got the 04 ZX10R out of the garage to head off to work & hit the start button & it started for only like 5 seconds .. Hit the start button again then it would not start again so got the 08 ZX10R out to get to work , After work I tried a few times to start the 04 but no it still would not start , So I thought it must of fouled the spark plug's , Got a new set of plugs & installed them & still it would not start .. Noticed when I took the fuel tank off that it hat lots of fuel pressure in the fuel line & injector rail , Tipped some fuel into each throttle body & it started until all that fuel had burnt away .. Put another set of fuel injectors & rail in it thinking they was blocked up but still the same .. Thinking maybe its the electrics not telling the fuel injectors to spray the fuel threw .. Even tried by unhooking the PC3 but still the same :? When I hit the start button on it the dash seems to go all over the show

Fuel pump seems to be ok as it primes well & must be pumping very well seems after a few attempts at starting the bike it gets lots of fuel build up in the fuel line & when disconnecting fuel line there is heaps of fuel pressure in the line & it squirts out all over me & the bike

Have you had it apart recently? Got things very wet?
sounds like there is no signal to the injectors possibly. Have you checked the connections to each injector and the common connector at the harness?

Brought a set of Noid lights & tested to see if there is any power going to the fuel injectors & No there is no power going to them & all fuses are good .. There is power going to the coils .. Never had it apart recently & done around 1,500km since it was apart just to clean air filter & give it an oil change

Sounds like you could have a bad earth connection or a relay has gone bad if the dash is going A wall when kicking it over, have you put a test light on the injector wire's to see if its getting a pulse ? You are bet starting with the basic's first so you would be best seeing if the ecu has any codes in it and go from there .
life starts at 200 kph!

The injectors will be pulse not constant power and pretty sure it will need to be turning over to see it, pull the plugs to get a bit more out of the battery and starter.
However it may not show with the plugs out, some bikes (delphi Harleys will not spark with plugs out) needs to see compression before everything starts to function

May at the end of the day still be best to take it to the shop, even if you just get them to identify the issue for you.

Hello there, please tell me what was wrong with it 'cause I've got exactly the same problem.
(excuse me for my English writing, I 'm just a Dutchy, who's a bit desperate for finding a solution for this injector problem)
