05 zx6r tail light fuse intermittent fault

Postby DiscoBiscuit » Sun Sep 29, 2013 7:00 pm

Hi all, I recently bought an 05 zx6r privately and have since discovered the the tail light fuse blows when it gets hot / goes through some twisties. I am struggling to track down the cause and thought I might tap into Australia's best resource for kwaka info :D .

Initially I thought it might be the shonky led rego light wiring, but having unplugged it , the fuse is still blowing. Today, it was fine @ the Berowra servo but was blown by the old road cafe. On replacing the fuse, everything works ok at standstill, but by next check at the end of the old road, it was blown again. I have had the fairings off and the integrity of the wires look ok to my untrained eye.
i guess the next step is to get a multimeter and start testing the harness one section at a time.

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience that could shortcut my search for the short circuit.

Cheers
