Best brake pads

2012 zx10

Just looking for a really good set of front brake pads for the track. Just track days but would be happy to spend decent money. At the moment I have stock rotors but would like something better than the stock pads. They don't do that badly, actually, but after a few late, hard brakes, you can tell they're getting hot!

Any suggestions?

SBS DC's are awesome but expensive. Seriously under rated manufacturer!

Nothing wrong with stockers. Some race teams use them. Kawasaki is always low on stock, as teams buy stacks.

Ebc extreme pro pads I had on my race bike were awesome. But not cheap.

Different pads won't help with the heat much. But better fluid will handle that heat better.
I use penrite sin fluid. It's good

The OEM kawa ones are expensive because they are good but under race conditions they dont tend to last that long

EBC extremes seem to win all the tests atm and I vouche for them. Very little warm up time and they bite like a pitbull on crack. They seem to last a bit longer as well.

Email Martin Korp (deceleration Specialist) at Aussie Parts. He sells them and has them to you pretty quickly for a bloody good price. Have used him for everything brakes and clutch for the last few years

+1 on the stockers! I have EBCs HH on atm and after 7 days they're all but gone. Won't be getting another set of those... I'll either go back to OEM or try Vesrah SRJLs. I had them on the R6 and the difference was incredible!!

Also, if your brakes are getting hot I'd be having a look at getting a better fluid in before changing pads....

You can also remove the little "anti rattle" spring things from the calipers.
This allows the air to travel between the pistons better.

Down side is that when you push your bike around the pits, or ride slowly (ie on the road) you pads jiggle a little bit.

Oh and it's a good idea to check the pad retaining pins are tight at all times

Cheers guys, looks like I might change brake fluid and see how that goes first. So penrite sin fluid yeah?

Won't make it brake better, just makes it last the whole session/race.

+1 on the EBC HH an alternative is GOLDfern S33 racing

I use Galfer 1375 pads... Braided lines and Penrite Sin fluid (with a Brembo MC).. Worked fine, lasted and were a good price.
and yes, ensure retaining bolts are tight,. .

Yep. More fluid pumped equals more pressure

Is it worth doing with stock brake lines? Since this is (for the moment) still a street bike, the abs is still hooked up so won't get braided lines until that goes....
