FI Code 64 after installing Block Off Plates Zx-10r 2012

Postby shannony » Fri Dec 07, 2012 3:03 pm

Hi All,

Not sure if this one has been covered before ? I have had a quick look and found most other pieces of information except this "i could be blind"
Regardless hoping someone can help out with this one.
I have just installed the Akro+link pipe, PCV 02 optimizaer and servo buddy on the Zx-10R (Macca your right it is almost WAY to loud).
During this i installed a pair off block off plates from Dan Kyle and as per most peoples advice just disconnected the Servo and removed it from the bike.

I have read multiple times on this forum that it will be fine just disconnected however after firing the beast up the Red Light and FI lights are displaying, When i enter service mode and get the code up it is quoting Fault 64 which is "Air switching valve malfunction, wiring open or short" Which is sounding a lot like what i have just disconnected anyone got any ideas or seen this before ? More so how can i fix it, is there some kind of sevro buddy equivalent ????? HELP

Or am i completely on the wrong track ????

HELP HELP ..

When they talk about disconnecting the servo they mean just the cables and leaving the servo there to spin freely. Either reconnect it or better still ebay search for a servobuddy. If confident search on this site or google and you can make it yourself. HTH :)

Edit - You say you installed a servobuddy above and also you just disconnected the servo. What exactly did u do?

Far from rooted it is flying actually :)

I am talking about the Kleen air mod not the exhaust Servo. So i have disconnected to things all together the Servo and installed a servo Buddy, and also removed the KLEEN Air solenoid.
So i am not sure at all if Error 64 is talking about the Servo and i may have a dodgey servo eliminator or it is bitching about the KLEEN air solenoid being removed ?

Just double checked in the Manual, The air switching Valve is the one for the KLEEN System, so nothing to do with the Exhuast Servo. ..

Someone on here will have installed the block off plates ... i hope :) .. Also sent an email off to Dan Kyle so will update if i dont here back from someone.

If you leave Kleen mod plug unplugged it will throw a code, it's a closed loop circuit.

Two choices, leave it plugged or create a closed loop plug, like this.

Yep, its from the block of plate install. You have removed the air switching pump (or whatevever its called) and you either need to plug the pump back in or get a jump plug / wire.. I believe Ivans have a plug in their block of kit.
Or get some tape to put over the FI light... :-)

Has anyone else done this mod to their bike ? I have made a wire to short the two connectors together but i still get the FI light with error 64, i even connected the pump back and got it ? i haven't started the bike so not sure if i need to clear the code somehow or if i start it it will go away ? Any ideas ? Cant be bothered putting it all back together again if i need to pull it apart again. ?

Any ideas ??
