Hey peeps, My Gen 3 very recently recieved its major service, and my mechanic rings me today to tell me that its pretty much ready for pick up, but theres a small problem with the thermo coming on permanently when the ignition is switched on..

Now my first impression is he's dislodged a wire, or forgot to hook one back up to a sensor somewhere tricking the ecu into turning it on when he stripped it down to do the valve clearances etc..
Im pretty sure its something simple thats been overlooked when re installing everything and that I could find the issue myself, but id prefer It was rectified by him before I picked it up as it wasnt an issue before dropping it off..
He's offered to strip out the airbox again and suss the wiring under it etc, but Im keen as hell to get this thing back as fast as possible.. So any suggestions where to look first that I could mention to him to speed up the process would be muchly apprieciated..

Cheers :kuda:

Mate to be honest i don't realy know ,but working on cars it "sounds" like its in a bit of a "limp" mode. Its when the ecu thinks some thing is wrong so the first thing it activates is thermo/knocking out cylinders ,if they have damaged a senser it is possible to set off something blike this.PS as i said im not sure .

Have a look at the wiring diagram for it to see how the rad fans are activated, ignition circuit is usually hot when the key is switched on, and rad circuit prob runs directly off that early on, so if there were a short in the circuit it might be it, but pretty unlikely on a newish bike you'd think.

This is sorted, I found a plug that wasn't connected properly forcing the ecu into possible safe mode.. Just glad to have it back.. Thanks for the suggestions ;)
