zx10r riding position

Postby gunn parker » Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:00 am

Hi All
I am just wondering if there is a huge difference in the zx10r riding position as far as the bars go compared to my 9?
I am wondering if there will be a lot more weight on my wrist and elbows on a 10?
I will be mostly commuting, occasional weekend hill run and maybe a couple of 100+ k runs now and again

cheers guys

Probably not a like for like comparison because I don't know what the newey's are like but back when I had my 05 ZX10 I'd previously had a 98 ZX9 and I found that for me the 10 was more comfortable. Strange I know but I think others have found the same thing. I don't think weight on your wrists is the problem. I had more issue with my old farts back.

Which model 9 and which model 10? I've had a '99 and '02 ZX9 and '04 ZX10 and my wife has a 2010 ZX10 and they all have a different riding position. The 10s feel so much smaller than the 9s did though. If you drop the pegs and lift the bars a bit on the 10 you can make them a lot more comfortable.

Hi
I have a 99, zx9 and I am looking at a 2006 or 2007 zx10.
I did not know the pegs where adjustable? and is there room to lift the bars much?

Pegs are only adjustable if you replace them with rearsets.

Depends on the model how high you can go with the bars. Between 1 and 2 inches higher than standard.

Cant compare to the 9 but the 06-07 zx10 was fairly comfortable with rearsets as previously advised. Up to 1000km in a day on the odd occasion :)
