suspension adjustment

Postby 09sydrd » Mon Apr 11, 2011 6:18 pm

Hey guys
My 09/10 is getting fuking worser , on the road the back wheel is skipping off the bumps and at other times the front wheel is jumping around a bit , how do you make the suspension softer and more bump compliant other than avoiding riding on shit roads ?

I'd rather have a play with it first and get it sorted myself before i hand it over to the shop.

Any tips appreciated !

Regards
Nigel

Mine got a lot better by adjusting it back to factory standard,
all the settings and how to do it were in the service manual :D

In one of Keith Cole's dvd's he goes through SAG adjustment step by step on a 09/10 ZX10R, I thought it was farken great!

I'm no suspension guru, but I'd have a go at the adjustments myself after watching it if I was in your position, you will need a helper though.

I have converted the SAG adjustment segment from the DVD to an AVI format, its about 175 megabytes.

Edit.

If your not comfy in setting the sag & dialing in the suspension yourself, then maybe go see these guys http://teknikracing1-px.rtrk.com.au/

Have heard good things about 'em :)

The Keith Code Sag adjustment video is a great start, there is a youtube version of it if you don't want to download it.

There is also this Teknic Rd setup guide which is helpful as well:
http://www.teknikracing.com/teknikal-li ... t-up-guide

But if its still sh!t, i'd take it into them, depending on your weight you may need a new spring. I took my old 04 zx10 into them a coupl eof yrs ago and they worked wonders, they had to take the spring out because the adjuster was seized together, and they couldn't adjust it while in the bike.

I hear really good things about zeno as well, planning on taking my race bike into him to get some work done:
