how many KMs do you call serious KMs?
keep changing the oil and getting the valves checked every 24000, and i cant see why it wouldn't pull the tonne (100,000km) plus easily.
Probably most important thing is to check the cam chain tension, the spring in the tensioner becomes weak after a while.
you can just buy a new tensioner and whack it in (5 min job) as long as your cam chain is still good.

Nothing really.
BTW the 06 / 07 were the same model (twin underseat exhaust) and the 08 / 09 / 10 were the next model.
Wattie has been racing an 06 / 07 this year with very few issues. The engine is stock with slip ons only and the suspension has been upgraded with ohlins rear and custom rebuilt forks..
I think the only known issue is, its ugly..

06-07 has some reported charging issues, generally Stator/Rectifier related. Low end revs in 1st gear can be a bit choppy, TRE can help significantly. Turns best with a 190/85 (as opposed to 190/80) and a 3mm washer to raise the rear end a bit.

Haven't had any issues with the stator in my 07 zx10r and it has just clocked over 24000ks. As for the low end issues, I haven't experienced that either, but I do have a TRE so that could be why I haven't noticed anything...
I don't have the "ugly" issue that Madkaw stated either, i think the gumby is a great looking bike!

haven't had any issues with the stator in my o6 zx10r as well when i had it bike done 20,000kms when i sold it,only issue that the
rocket cover gasket did leak at top right hand corner, and the timing plugs o-rings leak oil there as well.found the bike great to ride
just thirsty when you crack the throttle wide open
